Artist Statement
I was born 1985 in Budapest, Hungary and work and live in Germany. Even though I have studied business and economics, creativity has been a vital essence of my life and an important expression of my personality. I am a musician, and interior artist as well as a photographer.
In terms of photography, my first camera ever was actually an Apple iPhone 3G S. Starting in 2014, mobile photography has helped me to gain an easy and playful access to photography and to express my strong design sense and intuition for color, light and form visually. My photographs from this time look surreal and abstract, sometimes like a painting and often highlighting the surprisingly appealing strangeness of a place.
In 2019, my work has been awarded at the International Photography Awards (Smartphone Category) and got Honorable Mentions at the iPhone Photography Awards. Some of my works I have taken with my iPhone have been exhibited at the 13th Pollux Awards, Fine Art Photography Awards and the Minimalist Photography Awards, just to name a few.
In the same year, I became interested in contemporary image-making and recently started to work on my very first body of work called “Daniel? Come in.” – an intimate look into my intricate family background in Hungary.
